When he was in his prime, Adam Copeland is confident he could have successfully executed the Double Or Nothing Cage Dive.

Adam Copeland, an ex-holder of the AEW TNT Championship, experienced a tibia fracture in the course of a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black during the 2024 AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view occasion. Consequently, he relinquished his title and underwent surgical procedures.

In a recent conversation with Freddie Prinze Jr., Copeland shared his thoughts on the incident in the steel cage. He stated,

“From what I’ve gathered, it won’t bear weight for about eight to ten weeks, which is incredibly frustrating. This is the same leg where I had torn my Achilles before, so I have some familiarity with the ordeal. Right now, there’s not much to do except wait. Once I can walk again, I’ll have a clearer picture of whether it’s a six or eight month recovery process. Apparently, it was an unfortunate spot to break a leg, just above the ankle joint. The technical term for it is a pilon fracture. The healing process is complex, considering tissue and blood flow factors — and being 50 doesn’t help. Being realistic, my body will impose certain constraints which weren’t there in my youth. Hence, the injury occurred. I’m certain that if this happened when I was 30, I would’ve pulled through a lot easier.”
