Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day! We have an engaging topic to discuss today.

Last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw the WWE debut of The Motor City Machine Guns. Their performance was commendable, positioning them just one match away from a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championships. Their formidable opponents #DIY will certainly provide an exciting fixture next week. Moreover, The Bloodline, with its exceptional storytelling prowess, might be a barrier in their conquest.

While the upcoming matches decide their fate on the tag titles, let’s not forget the singles titles bagged by Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in their TNA Wrestling days. Can they recreate such glory in WWE? Or will they be confined to midcard championships? Or is the tag title itself too grand a dream?

The question of the day is: “What do you think the potential of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in WWE is?” Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

My perspective…

Being a long-time fan of The Motor City Machine Guns, I must admit that their chances of emulating their TNA success in WWE seems to be dim. Even with Paul Levesque’s perspective, their age, stature, and lack of charismatic speech might be stumbling blocks in their way. I feel their success would be confined to Tag Team Championships and not extended to other titles.

I am more than hopeful that their talent will be rewarded with a Tag Team title reign in the coming year. The present scenario suggests an uphill task, with Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga being likely winners of the title. Consequently, the potential of MCMG to win the titles seems to be low unless there are plans for immediate title reversal.

I can’t help thinking what the scenario would be if they joined the Raw roster. They could easily challenge The Judgment Day and make a name for themselves. However, now they face a stern challenge on SmackDown which might delay their championship dreams until post-WrestleMania 41.

Ultimately, my projection sees MCMG bagging either the Raw or SmackDown tag team titles in 2025, possibly Raw. Their path to midcard or world titles doesn’t look promising unless a move to NXT happens. While it’s not surprising for them to bag titles in NXT, achieving the same against champions like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso on the red and blue brands might be reaching for the stars.

Despite this, their journey in WWE promises excitement, and I am eagerly looking forward to their full potential being realized. And I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong and see them achieve success far beyond the tag team division.
