The “Wrestling With Freddie” show with host Freddie Prinze Jr., recently featured certain observations surrounding WWE’s Drew McIntyre. Prinze said on his podcast that in the context of the past pandemic era, he views McIntyre as possibly the most undervalued talent within the WWE rooster. McIntyre, according to Prinze, has not yet received the recognition he deserves, considering his success and performance as a COVID champion, which in retrospect was far more challenging than anyone could have estimated.
Prinze explained, “Winning without an audience is utterly dreadful…And when I say ‘underrated,’ I am not talking about his professional abilities, since clearly, everyone acknowledges that he can wrestle. But, I’m referring to what he personified as the champion during the pandemic and the fact that he converted his avatar into an egoistic villain who does not hesitate to permanently harm his opponent, almost turning into an undesirable character. His microphone skills have been excellent – better than he’s previously displayed. Also, he has always been decent [in the ring]. At the start, he was a bit raw, as expected, but I’m talking about this manifestation of his character. I feel we’re not discussing him as much as we should.”
