Welcome once again to the eWrestlingNews Debate of the Day!
The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre appears, at least for now, to be on pause. CM Punk’s promo, that started this week’s Monday Night Raw, seems to have written him off our screens for the time being. His interaction with Seth Rollins gave us a glimpse into a possible matchup around the corner at WrestleMania 41.
However, today’s conundrum is “As they part ways, what should the next move be for CM Punk and Drew McIntyre?”

Here’s my point of view…
Firstly, they should avoid crossing paths for about a year. To assure their ways don’t cross, they should be assigned to divergent brands once the 2025 WWE Draft is finalized.
In the case of Punk, his subsequent move may not hold much importance due to the possible hiatus he might take. He may be resurface after Survivor Series. If he does, contending against Gunther for the title could be an apt move. Gunther is anticipated to have a high stature post his matchup with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel. Excluding WarGames, this decision to wrestle against Gunther will raise Punk’s image as the No. 1 contender.
Additionally, if Punk returns before the 2025 Royal Rumble, he could aim for the Royal title by announcing his intentions, anticipating a probable failure which will set the stage for a feud with Rollins at Mania.
On the other hand, McIntyre should contemplate taking a short break. He should avoid plunging into a new conflict immediately post-Crown Jewel.
Regrettably, Ilja Dragunov’s injury has ruled out a potential skirmish with McIntyre. Apart from Bron Breakker, there are scarce options available for The Scottish Warrior. Perhaps a possible feud with Bronson Reed could be on the cards, post his feud with Rollins, but that’s up in the air. Maybe, revisiting the Sami Zayn storyline could be a solution; however, I am uncertain if this will be the right approach. Certainly, a rematch with Jey Uso, a stepping down to contest for an intercontinental belt or a conflict with Gunther or Damian Priest won’t be advisable. Currently, all other wrestlers are either engaged in a storyline, villains or simply not at the same league.
Looking at the bigger picture, McIntyre could potentially face off against Reed, turning one of them more towards being a hero- likely Drew. He needs to keep maintaining the wave of his promos which have been working well so far for him.
