Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.
So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!
Becky Lynch against Trish Stratus still isn’t confirmed, so that’s one of them, and potentially it. We know the United States Championship is going to be defended on SmackDown instead, so that gets rid of Austin Theory vs. Santos Escobar. With Kevin Owens injured, you can kiss the tag team titles away from this lineup. And then, who cares about the women’s tag titles, particularly with no one set up to challenge Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green?
I wholly expect the only updates to the card to be the addition of Becky vs Trish and then, a stipulation for Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar. Nothing more.
For the most part, Logan Paul seems to be a featured act that only pops up on big events. Logically, we can skip past Payback, NXT No Mercy, and Fastlane. The next Saudi Arabia show hasn’t been announced, but I would assume Crown Jewel is coming sometime in late October, early November, and that we’ll see him there, as he’s more likely to show up in that capacity than at Survivor Series on November 25th. Then, he’ll be back at Royal Rumble in January, naturally.
As far as his opponent goes, I think it depends a lot on what WWE has planned for the future. My gut would tell me Cody Rhodes, but if there’s any chance The American Nightmare is going to be the one to beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 (maybe, if that doesn’t just drag out even longer), then I’d save Rhodes vs. Paul for a title match.
So let’s assume Cody’s off the table. My next go-to choice would be a feud with AJ Styles. They’d have a great match. Bobby Lashley could be another option, though, as could Edge, if they want to have The Rated R Superstar on the card.
Eventually, I want to see Logan Paul against Gunther, but since that’s a heel vs heel thing, it might not be a great option to do just yet.
I don’t buy into it pretty much whatsoever. It wouldn’t shock me if someone pitched that at a writer’s meeting and it didn’t get far at all beyond that, though. The Rock isn’t likely to have his schedule as packed right now due to the strikes in Hollywood, so maybe he’s able to fit it in and they’ll just go for that as a surprise, but I think they’d be advertising the crap out of it if that were ready to go.
Instead, I think Waller is going to be in the battle royal and possibly win that, or at least come close to winning it.
