The wrestling superstar, CM Punk, known for his enigmatic persona in the WWE, will soon be seen showcasing his acting talents yet again. His upcoming project is a comedic film titled ‘Let’s Start A Cult.’
In the debut trailer, viewers get a glimpse of Punk on two different occasions, including the final scene from the movie. It appears that his character in the film is an integral part of the eponymous cult.
As per the synopsis shared by Deadline, the film’s narrative unfolds like this:
“Following his alienation from an anticipated mass suicide event, the unlikable cult member Chip (Stavros Halkias) goes back to his family, only to recall why he chose to leave them behind. Upon realizing that the charismatic former cult leader William (Haney) might still be among the living, Chip embarks on a mission to find him. Once found, Chip confronts William with a dilemma: face prison time for his past deeds, or assist Chip in establishing a new cult, deeming them as equal leaders.”
This isn’t Punk’s first foray into acting. He has earlier made an appearance in ‘Girl On The Third Floor,’ and also shared screen space with ‘Arrow’ actor Stephen Amell in ‘Heels.’
While his acting career takes a new turn, Punk continues his rivalry in WWE with Drew McIntyre. The duo is set to vie each other in the infamous Hell in a Cell at the upcoming WWE Bad Blood 2024 event, scheduled for next month. Take a look at the official trailer for ‘Let’s Start A Cult’ below:
