Watch: STARZ Takes Fans Inside the Wrestling of ‘Heels’ With Behind-The-Scenes Featurette
STARZ released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for its new original drama series “Heels,” set to premiere worldwide on August 15.
Set in the world of independent professional wrestling, the series stars Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig as Jack & Ace Spade, two brothers at the center of the Duffy Wrestling League. Heels is a story “about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling.”
The drama series also stars Alison Luff as Staci Spade, Jack’s wife; Mary McCormack as Willie Day, Jack’s business partner; Kelli Berglund as Crystal Tyler, Ace’s valet and love interest; Allen Maldonado as wrestler Rooster Robbins; James Harrison as journeyman wrestler Apocalypse; and Chris Bauer as Wild Bill Hancock, a former wrestling star turned scout.
CM Punk also makes a guest appearance on the show as an independent wrestler named “Ricky Rabies.” Punk briefly appears in the featurette (seen above) alongside Stephen Amell. Punk and Starz previously shared a first-look at his character, and the former WWE Champion revealed it took anywhere from 90 minutes to three hours to apply makeup to cover his tattoos for the role.
