In October 2024, Chris Bey suffered a severe neck injury during a TNA iMPACT! taping which led to a surgical procedure. He shared a video of himself managing to stand again on February 13.

To raise money for Bey’s medical expenses, Future Stars Of Wrestling organised an event titled Mecca X – Beynefit For Bey on March 23.

During the event, a video message from Rey Mysterio, a WWE Hall of Famer was shared. Mysterio expressed his wish to be present at the event and shared that he and his family have been praying for Bey. He hoped for a healthy and smooth recovery for Bey and commended his progress. He also extended his gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to the event. He stressed that the wrestling community holds Bey in high regard.

The organiser of FSW, Joe DeFalco mentioned that Mysterio had expressed interest in participating in the fundraiser.

Fans have the opportunity to extend their support to Bey by contributing to his GoFundMe page.

Isiah “Swerve” Scott, also known as Swerve Strickland, was amongst the attendees of the FSW’s Beynefit For Bey event. He started a chant of “Whose House? Bey’s House!” and lauded Bey’s resilience during his recovery. The former AEW World Champion Scott conveyed his enthusiasm for Bey’s eventual return to wrestling and pledged to be there for him, despite having to announce his non-participation due to lack of clearance in his match against Kenny King at the event.

Finally, Joey Janela announced Masha Slamovich’s defence of the JCW World Championship against Suzu Suzuki during her GCW debut at Spring Break 9, forming part of GCW’s The Collective on April 18.
