Wardlow’s hiatus from AEW programming gave him time to reflect on the death of his father, the former TNT Champion has claimed.
On the February 2, edition of AEW Dynamite, Wardlow returned to TV to attack Samoa Joe, after being written off by Joe on the December 28, episode.
During a sit-down interview with Jim Ross, Wardlow opened up about his time off and said he spent a lot of time reflecting on the death of his father.
“I had four weeks off and that gave me a lot of time to think. That’s the first time I’ve had off since starting in AEW three years ago. I haven’t had a single week off since I started, and those four weeks gave me so much time not only to heal physically but mentally to really clear my head.
“I just wish I had the opportunity to give him a better life, especially at that time in my life.”
Other than matches on Chris Jericho’s Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise, Wardlow is yet to compete since the December 28, 2022, edition of Dynamite.
