During a recent communication with Ace Odds, WWE announcer Wade Barrett explored the possibilities of reentering the ring, shared his interest in competing against Drew McIntyre, and referenced Triple H’s role in helming WWE Creative.

Some key takeaways from the interview are as follows:

When asked about the prospect of facing Drew McIntyre in the ring, Barrett didn’t hesitate. “Certainly, it would be Drew McIntyre. We share quite a history and have remained close friends for years. A few weeks ago, he made some audacious comments on Raw, which I haven’t overlooked. While I’m not one to cause a scene, he was fortunate to stop when he did. Otherwise, the “bull hammer” would have emerged, toppling him over, possibly triggering a sooner return to the ring. But I’m not overly eager for that.”

He also voiced his opinion on Triple H leading WWE Creative saying, “I find it thrilling today that I can’t predict who will headline the next exclusive live broadcast. It’s anyone’s guess as to how the card will look. Big names like Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns may not even feature. CM Punk might return out of the blue. For me, that mystery is thrilling and a strength of Triple H, preventing predictability in shows. His ability to tie up loose ends is commendable. In the past, some storylines fizzled out halfway, never to be heard from again. But Triple H is brilliant in maintaining continuity.”

Switching gears to his career modification from wrestling to commentating, he mused, “The highlighting shift when transitioning from a wrestler to an announcer is that focus is no longer about you. Instead, your role is to amplify every other character and storyline appearing on the screen. It’s no longer about my fame or being the star. My task now is to have a holistic understanding of the entire show, not just focusing on my segment. This shift has heightened my appreciation for our creative team, management, and the decision-making process. I understand why some lose certain segments, and others win to make sense of the larger storyline. My comprehension of piecing together a cohesive and intriguing multiple-hour show for our audience has deepened.”
