Throughout his tenure in WWE, Wade Barrett had a commendable first stint. He clinched the crown in the inaugural season of NXT, spearheaded The Nexus, and savored several title victories.
In 2020, Barrett made his return to the WWE NXT, this time voicing his insights as a color commentator, which later transitioned him to the SmackDown broadcast team.
A conversation was stirred recently by Barrett regarding the circumstances under which he would contemplate entering the ring for one last battle. His “Bad News Barrett” persona was a career-altering move, although things had remained somewhat stagnant for him prior to this change.
Following Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s stewardship of WWE since July 2022, a slew of Superstars has made their comeback into the ring. Nonetheless, Barrett’s last wrestling match was in 2016 and fans are eager to know if he may ever step back into the wrestling ring.
During a recent exchange with Metro, Barrett conveyed that he is physically fit and will be inclined to wrestle again if an opportune moment arises. He declared,
“I’m fit and healthy, if something came up where, ‘Okay, there’s a match here, would you be interested in doing it?’ If it makes sense to me and I was excited to do it, absolutely, I could.”
The last time fans saw Barrett wrestle was on the episode of Monday Night RAW on April 4th, 2016, where he partnered with Sheamus, but lost to The New Day’s Big E and Kofi Kingston in a tag team match.
