Vince Russo hopes to see WWE trim its proverbial ‘fat’ after the recent draft which the former head writer found to be “absolutely ridiculous.”

Much has been said about the 2024 WWE Draft with the two-night event facing criticism for the lack of significant moves across RAW and SmackDown.

On a recent edition of the “WrestleBinge” podcast, Russo suggested what WWE should do after the promotion’s latest shake-up. He said,

“We had it on Friday night, we had it tonight. Most of the people are staying on the same shows that they were on. The entire Draft is absolutely ridiculous. It should go back to one roster. Eliminate some of the fat, a lot of these people that shouldn’t even be on these shows. Carry storylines through SmackDown and RAW. We just have these absolute useless drafts for them to pop a number every year. I don’t know, do you feel differently than I do?”

Despite the criticism, WWE is reportedly pleased with how the 2024 Draft went, and had been satisfied with the main event scenes of RAW and SmackDown pre-draft.

The new rosters will be locked in on May 6. It is expected that a handful of trades may happen between now and the aforementioned cut-off date.
