Vince Russo, the previous WWE chief writer, has raised concerns about Jade Cargill being potentially overshadowed by an emerging talent in WWE NXT.
Cargill entered the WWE universe in September last year and subsequently showcased her skills during the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year.
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown saw Lash Legend, a rising star from NXT, triumphing over Piper Niven in a singles match.
During an episode of his “BroDown” podcast, Russo voiced his thoughts on Legend and questioned her simultaneous appearances with Cargill, stating,
“This individual Lash Legend, mate, she’s a titan. We’ve got a titan in Jade Cargill. Why are we operating with two titans? The most apt parallel I can draw is – Was there ever two duplicates of Chyna, mate? Did we, or did we not, have just one Ninth Wonder of the World? Why would you introduce another titan when Jade Cargill is a titan? Because now, as towering and significant as Lash Legend is, it’s going to draw attention away from Jade Cargill.”
Cargill and her tag team ally Bianca Belair were spectators at the duel between Legend and Niven on SmackDown, as they did not compete.
On the October 11th episode of SmackDown, Legend and Jakara Jackson failed to secure victory over Belair and Cargill for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
