Vince Russo, a notable figure in the wrestling industry, had once advocated for Jason Sensation, a popular impersonator to be admitted into the esteemed WWE Hall of Fame while he was battling grave health circumstances.
During a recent episode of his popular podcast “Legion of RAW”, Russo nostalgically recalled his conversation with wrestling giant Triple H about the proposition. In his own words, he expressed,
“My dear friend, Jason Sensation, was going through a severe health issue. Hence, I reached out to Triple H via email. The previous communication that had happened between us dated back to 1999. In the email, I suggested, ‘Buddy, inducting Jason Sensation into the Hall of Fame would be a kind-hearted move. It would truly brighten his life, given his enduring love for WWE.”
“Triple H responded to me, which in itself was a decent gesture, especially considering my criticism of WWE. We then had a productive discussion.”
Jason Sensation is fondly remembered for his amusing impressions during WWE’s Attitude Era. His emulation of Owen Hart is a particularly celebrated one.
Jason famously appeared in the spoof segment where DX made a mockery of the Nation of Domination, a stunt which was later retracted from Peacock due to the usage of blackface.
Unfortunately, Sensation was not conferred the honor of a WWE Hall of Fame induction in 1999. The idea was subsequently rekindled in 2004, ahead of the 20th edition of WrestleMania.
