Wrestling industry expert, Vince Russo has predicted that John Cena’s 17th win of the World Championship is more of a ‘when’ than an ‘if’, expecting it to happen at the anticipated WrestleMania 41.
In a recent segment of his popular ‘Writing with Russo’ podcast, Russo detailed his reasons behind expecting Cena to emerge victorious and Cody Rhodes to face defeat this coming April. In his words,
“Cody Rhodes stands no chance at winning WrestleMania. It’s undeniable. Why bother? He simply can’t triumph. Are we really about to throw away 22 years on Cody getting the upper hand?”
In addition to foreseeing a loss for Rhodes at the impending WrestleMania 41, Russo further disclosed a forecast of a face-off with none other than The Rock in the year 2026. He continued by saying,
“I believe they’re setting the stage for a match between Cody and The Rock next year. It’s likely to be the narrative for the following year. While Cena may seize the championship, I predict he’ll lose it somewhere along the journey, if we consider his final year’s performance, it will be necessary to reinstate his image as the hero.”
In an unexpected turn of events, John Cena adopted a villainous persona at the Elimination Chamber: Toronto event. This April, he and Rhodes are set to duel for the undisputed WWE Championship.
