Did the initial Brawl For All give you your fill for pro wrestling pugilism for a lifetime? It wasn’t enough for Vince McMahon, apparently.

The wrestling world has been buzzing about boxing this week due to The Dark Side Of The Ring’s latest feature on WWE’s Brawl For All tournament that took place in the summer of 1998. It has been universally panned as a disaster for the company, causing injuries to talent as well as unnecessarily opening up a wound to expose the business.

According to former WWE writer John Piermarini, while on the creative team in 2009 or 2010, Vince McMahon wanted to bring the gloves back to the squared circle, but thankfully was talked off that ledge.

“Funny story – while on creative in either 2009 or 2010 Vince wanted to do another Brawl For All with the guys competing on NXT (in its original format). He had to be talked out of it,” Piermarini Tweeted in which he also congratulated Dark Side Of The Ring producer Evan Husney & director Jason Eisener.

Bart Gunn won the lone Brawl For All tournament, but it featured talents such as JBL, Dr. Death Steve Williams, Road Warrior Hawk and Bob Holly.
