Reports have surfaced from Fightful Select revealing that immediately before stepping down as the head honcho of WWE, Vince McMahon took a dynamic leap in mending the result of a match at WrestleMania 39.

After bidding adieu to his official role in 2022, McMahon still managed to keep his grip on the WWE interface. The results of his influence were seen in the early half of 2023, molding the journey to WrestleMania. Several wrestling stars missed screen time on WWE TV, and a plethora of amendments were enacted to the shows.

‘The Demon’ Finn Balor was initially penned down to best Edge in the treacherous Hell In A Cell match at WrestleMania 39, bringing to a close a feud that germinated when Edge crafted The Judgment Day.

McMahon, however, had other ideas. Unmoved by the Rated R Superstar’s willingness to yield to Balor, he insisted on an altered story with Edge emerging victorious.

The timeline of when Balor and Edge were clued into the initial storyline and subsequent change is murky. However, it’s standard procedure for such details to be unravelled on the day of the performance.

Touching upon Cody Rhodes’ defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, McMahon gave his nod to a decision made much earlier.

Things didn’t slow down in the post-WrestleMania 39 RAW either. McMahon went on to bring a whirlwind of changes to the episode, with a source comparing his frenzied alterations to a “Tasmanian Devil”.

By January 2024, McMahon eventually stepped away from WWE/TKO.
