Following his departure from WWE, Vince McMahon is currently advancing a distinct corporate venture. According to sources that are knowledgeable about the situation, as reported by Pwinsider, McMahon is in the process of developing a unique “entertainment hub company” that aims to provide financial support as well as oversee the development and production of TV and film projects. This new enterprise will not mimic WWE, but rather focus on fictitious and factual content.
The same report alludes to multiple former WWE personalities that are currently working with McMahon in preparation for the company’s inception. However, an official launch is dependent upon the resolution of pending legal disputes.
The initiative’s participants include Brad Blum—who had previously served as the COO of WWE and a close confidant of McMahon for many years. Blum was also McMahon’s Chief of Staff as of his WWE joining year in 2006, extending his role in 2020.
Blum, post initial departure from WWE attributed to McMahon’s retirement and Janel Grant lawsuit initiated by the Wall Street Journal articles, found his way back after McMahon’s WWE sale to Endeavor. Subsequent McMahon’s second exit, Blum maintained his position for a few months prior to his resignation in May, fueling rumors about possible future collaboration with McMahon.
Kristen Prouty, WWE’s prior intermediary to the entertainment industry before her layoff earlier this year, is also part of McMahon’s team. Prouty first caught the eyes of WWE as the Casting Director for the first Diva Search which Christy Hemme won in 2000. After a stint of five years of individual work, she joined WWE full-time in 2005, becoming the Senior Vice President, Entertainment Relations at her departure. Her position involved coordinating with the entertainment world and arranging talent involvement in TV shows, celebrity events, and more.
Prouty has been acknowledged for discovering many talents, such as The Bellas and The Miz, and for scheduling RAW Guest Hosts and arranging celebrity participations for plots. Her termination from WWE happened in the past May due to cutbacks after the acquisition by Endeavor.
Moreover, the report suggests that the new company is projected to be based in the Los Angeles region, once officially inaugurated.
McMahon’s controversial WWE exit and the multiple lawsuits against him make the scenario interesting to observe if there will be any networks or distributors eager to collaborate with the nearly 80-year-old business magnate at the outset, considering the unpredictability of Hollywood.
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Kevin Dunn has no contribution in this fresh undertaking.
