Beloved figure in Lucha libre, Villano V, also known as Ray Mendoza Jr., has tragically died.
On Thursday, the wrestling world mourned as the news of Villano V’s demise at the age of 62 spread.
CMLL, an associated wrestling organization, lamented his loss with the following words:
“REST IN PEACE, VILLANO V.
CMLL feels the deep sorrow that permeates the wrestling world at the tragic loss of Villano V (Ray Mendoza Jr.), a significant figure in the annals of Mexican Wrestling.”
In the late 1990s, Villano made a memorable impact in WCW, particularly alongside his brother, Villano IV, a moment that will likely be recalled by many American fans.
