In an update on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that while there are hopes in WWE that a match could happen, there are no official talks at this time. He said,

“As soon as that story came out, I heard from a bunch of people who were pretty close in, and they basically said that ‘we probably shouldn’t be worried about them doing that one,’ because it basically, you know it’s not anything that anyone’s talked about to any degree.”

“I mean, it could happen, and it makes sense, but maybe you know.”

Additionally, Austin “has not been approached” about the potential match as Triple H has been busy in recent days on the West Coast.
