Wrestling insiders are speculating on the underlying reasons behind Kairi Sane’s rumored return to WWE, suggesting that there may be more to her decision than meets the eye.
Reports first emerged that Kairi Sane had entered into an agreement to make her comeback to WWE after departing the company in December 2021 to return to Japan. Anticipation surrounds her impending reentry into the WWE fold.
Dave Meltzer, via Wrestling Observer Radio, has now offered additional notable insights into the situation, hinting that further details surrounding Sane’s choice to leave Japan and rejoin WWE could come to light in 2024. Meltzer alluded to intricate factors at play in Japan that might have influenced her decision.
Additionally, it was said that Kairi Sane was presented with multiple offers, pointing to the possibility that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) had expressed interest in her services. AEW could have potentially accommodated her lifestyle by permitting her to live in Japan or shuttle between countries, contrasting with WWE’s more stringent demands.
Following her departure from WWE, Kairi Sane found her stride competing primarily for Stardom in Japan. Her achievements culminated in winning the IWGP Women’s Championship in November 2022, an accolade she held for a noteworthy ninety-day span until her defeat to Mercedes Mone in February 2023.
The motivation behind Kairi Sane’s initial departure from WWE in 2020 was her desire to relocate to Japan and be with her husband. Despite her exit from the in-ring action, Sane maintained ties with WWE until 2021, where she served as a trainer and representative for the organization in her home country.
