After the AEW Rampage TV tapings in Inglewood, California last week, Ronda Rousey made her debut in All Elite Wrestling/ROH when she teamed up with Marina Shafir to face off against Billie Starkz and Athena in a tag team match.

Rousey reportedly made a verbal agreement with the company for the match and they are excited to have her back if she wants to work more bouts. The decision to broadcast the match on ROH TV was made to boost HonorClub subscriptions.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “Her doing the ROH show was only basically a favor to alleviate a complex political issue and help her friend Marina Shafir. It had nothing to do with any current interest in signing a pro wrestling deal and from those very close to the situation, in no way made it more likely at all that if she did want to come back in a couple of years, that AEW would be her choice.”

Rousey’s appearance in All Elite Wrestling/ROH was reportedly a result of a verbal agreement she made with the company. While it is unclear if she plans to work more bouts in the future, the company expressed excitement about having her back if she chooses to do so. The decision to broadcast the match on ROH TV was also made to boost subscriptions to HonorClub, the company’s streaming service.

However, it is important to note that Rousey’s involvement in the ROH show was primarily to help her friend Marina Shafir and alleviate a complex political issue, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He also mentioned that if Rousey does decide to return to wrestling in a couple of years, it is unlikely that AEW would be her choice.
