Pwinsider is reporting that CM Punk is currently absent from Chicago for AEW Dynamite, which is set to be hosted at the NOW Arena in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Notably, Punk’s absence is attributed to his presence in Las Vegas yesterday, where he attended the annual awards banquet of the Cauliflower Alley Club (CAC). Punk was slated to receive the Iron Mike Mazurki Award, an honor he was announced for earlier this year.

As of a few hours ago, Punk was still situated in Las Vegas. This comes in the wake of the recent suspension of both CM Punk and Jack Perry from AEW due to their backstage altercation during the AEW All In 2023 pay-per-view event on August 27th at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Though AEW has not issued an official public statement regarding the suspensions, Tony Khan did confirm the existence of a backstage incident and the initiation of an investigation during a post-show media scrum after All In 2023. While some AEW sources acknowledged the suspension today, others refrained from confirming it. The report outlines that the sources who didn’t verify the suspension indicated they were “not aware” of its official status.

Furthermore, Jack Perry is also absent from the backstage area at tonight’s Dynamite TV tapings. For images capturing CM Punk at the CAC event held in Las Vegas, refer to the photos provided below:
