AEW Collision will not be airing next Saturday night.
During this week’s edition of AEW Collision, it was announced that the show will be returning on February 24. The show will be pre-empted next week due to TNT’s annual coverage of the NBA All-Star weekend.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Swerve Strickland commented on his growing popularity in AEW and why he believes he’s been able to get over. He said,
“It was all about creating an aura about myself that not a lot of people can provide on the show. For me, it was about providing an aura about myself, a look, a feel, and for me, the feel was fear. Tapping in to movies like Hostel. Movies that made you feel uncomfortable, but it was also very real too. It wasn’t too spooky, it was like ‘no this could really happen,’ and that’s a very fearful thought and feeling to have.“
In the main event of this week’s episode of AEW Collision, Orange Cassidy defeated Tomohiro Ishii to retain his International title.
Following the match, the Undisputed Kingdom quickly attacked Cassidy. While Ishii left after the match, he would eventually return to make the save.

AEW Collision, the popular wrestling show, will not be airing next Saturday night. The announcement was made during this week’s edition of AEW Collision, where it was revealed that the show will be returning on February 24. The reason for the pre-emption is TNT’s annual coverage of the NBA All-Star weekend.
In a recent interview on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Swerve Strickland discussed his growing popularity in AEW and why he believes he has been able to connect with the audience. He emphasized the importance of creating an aura about himself that stands out from others on the show. Strickland mentioned drawing inspiration from movies like Hostel, which evoke a feeling of discomfort and fear. He aimed to bring that same sense of realism and fear to his character in AEW.
The main event of this week’s episode of AEW Collision featured Orange Cassidy defending his International title against Tomohiro Ishii. Cassidy emerged victorious, retaining his title. However, after the match, the Undisputed Kingdom launched a sudden attack on Cassidy. While Ishii initially left the scene, he later returned to make the save.
Fans can catch some highlights from the match on AEW’s official Twitter page. The clips showcase intense moments from the match, including Cassidy taking Ishii off his feet and a spike move that leaves Cassidy down. The videos also capture the Undisputed Kingdom blindsiding Cassidy after the match.
Although AEW Collision will not be airing next week due to the NBA All-Star weekend, fans can look forward to its return on February 24. The show promises to deliver more thrilling matches and exciting storylines as AEW continues to captivate wrestling enthusiasts worldwide.
