Mercedes “Sasha Banks” Mone and WWE are reportedly no longer in talks regarding the possibility of working together again.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Mone had been in discussions about a return to WWE in recent months. Over the past week or so, the talks fell apart and multiple sources say that as of Friday night, the two are no longer in “active discussions.”

While the talks between the two sides were said to have been “friendly,” there was no progression made and WWE decided to walk away from the negotiations for the time being. One source is under the impression that Mone will be appearing elsewhere “imminently.” Of course, the AEW Worlds End 2023 pay-per-view event takes place on Saturday night. Mone’s best friend Trinity (Naomi in WWE) works for Impact Wrestling, which will be rebranding back to the “TNA” moniker at the Hard to Kill 2024 pay-per-view event on January 13th. Also, NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 takes place in a matter of days on January 4th.

Finally, it was added that there were plans in place back in August for Mone to come to AEW, but the talks between the two sides also came to a halt. Despite this, the door wasn’t shut on the two possibly working together down the line. NJPW officials have also been hoping to talk to Mone.

With the WWE deal reportedly now off the table, all of the previous options are now back in play.

Mercedes “Sasha Banks” Mone and WWE have reportedly ended their discussions about the possibility of working together again. According to a report from Fightful Select, Mone had been in talks for a return to WWE in recent months, but the negotiations fell apart and as of Friday night, the two are no longer in active discussions.

Although the talks were said to have been friendly, no progress was made, leading WWE to walk away from the negotiations for now. It is believed that Mone will be appearing elsewhere soon. This opens up opportunities for her to potentially join other wrestling promotions such as AEW, Impact Wrestling (which will be rebranding back to “TNA”), or NJPW.

Back in August, there were plans for Mone to come to AEW, but those talks also came to a halt. However, the door remains open for future collaboration between Mone and AEW. NJPW officials have also expressed interest in discussing opportunities with her.
