Bryan Danielson, in his recent media interactions, has candidly disclosed the condition of his neck, which might require surgery by the end of 2024. The discussion was set amidst the anticipated AEW All In: London 2024 pay-per-view event.
An article from Fightful Select suggests that Danielson’s remarks regarding his doctors advising him against wrestling prior to All In were “mostly true.” Yet, confirmed that he was given a green signal to compete at All In and face Jeff Jarrett in a recent episode of AEW Dynamite. However, he did not receive clearance to participate in Blood & Guts and abstained from doing so. AEW officials are operating under the assumption that Danielson might not be as frequently accessible as previously.
Apparently, the planning for Danielson’s run leading up to All In 2024 commenced in Spring. Interestingly, he has been performing without an active contract for the last three weeks, since his previous contract ended on August 1. Nevertheless, despite his contract expiry, Danielson retained his role in the creative team and the internal disciplinary committee, which were part of his initial talent agreement. There are speculations that AEW may propose a new working arrangement post this run.
Lastly, it was mentioned that Tony Khan places his trust in Danielson as he has been consistently upfront and transparent about issues such as these. Quite a few people within the company believe Danielson will continue his association with AEW in some capacity. Danielson had previously stated that he would consider a comeback to WWE only if he felt necessary. As yet, WWE has not extended an invitation.
