In a recent development, Braun Strowman has emerged as the fresh No. 1 contender prepared to vie for the United States Championship, after emerging victorious over Jacob Fatu on WWE’s SmackDown series.
Before the pivotal match, Strowman exchanged words with LA Knight in a tense backstage encounter. The champion promised him he’d provide support if Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga decided to meddle. Strowman then unveiled a backstage revelation that Nick Aldis, the SmackDown General Manager, promised a stab at the United States Championship for the winner. For Strowman, it appeared to be his ticket to the grand stage of WrestleMania.
The match, however, saw an unexpected turn of events with Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga interrupting, allegedly to assist Fatu. Their intervention, however, led to Fatu’s disqualification, ultimately sealing The Monster of All Monsters a title opportunity. This matchup is scheduled to occur during the upcoming week’s SmackDown, to be hosted in England.
Another title match is poised to happen as Pretty Deadly secured their position for the WWE Tag Team Championship. They clinched their contender’s status after triumphing over Los Garza and The Motor City Machine Guns in a Triple Threat held two weeks ago. The Street Profits will be their next opponents in London, potentially providing Pretty Deadly with the advantage of familiar grounds.
Drew McIntyre also hinted at a possible upcoming showdown with Damian Priest. However, details regarding this are still under wraps.
You can tune into SmackDown next Friday, whose international broadcast is slated to be aired early on Netflix, and as usual at 8 pm ET on the USA Network for the domestic audience. The event will be held at The O2 Arena.
