Undertaker Believes Cody Rhodes Has Potential as a Villainous Character, but Expresses Skepticism About His Possible Transformation

Cody Rhodes has the tools to be a top heel in WWE, according to The Undertaker, but the Phenom doubts that such a turn will happen anytime soon.

Rhodes has been one of WWE’s most popular babyfaces since returning to WWE in April 2022 but spent years of his previous WWE run as a heel.

On a recent edition of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Deadman discussed whether Rhodes could turn heel given his immense popularity. He said,

“Well I don’t know if he would switch as champion … I don’t know what the approach would be there, but I think he would be a good heel, I think he’s got heel qualities. He gives me a heel vibe, like I could see him very easily being smug … I can see it, like I can feel it in his character.

“The thing I think with Cody, he’s always going to be a little bit undersized right? He’ll still be able to be the underdog … I mean I can just see GUNTHER you know chopping the crap out of him and Cody caving in, it’s just having to fight from underneath and fight for insurmountable odds because that title that he’s fought so hard for the last two years is his now and he don’t want to give it up.”

Rhodes recently admitted that he does occasionally think about a heel turn but is opting to focus on his current connection with the WWE Universe.

Cody Rhodes’ first televised title defense will come at WWE Backlash: France where he will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against AJ Styles.
