The completion of WWE’s merger with UFC is anticipated to bring significant alterations to WWE programming; however, these changes are currently on hold until the company’s agreement with Endeavor is finalized.

Earlier this year in April, WWE announced its partnership with Endeavor, leading to a merger with UFC. The expected completion date for this merger is later in 2023, resulting in the formation of a new company with a Board of Directors comprising representatives from Endeavor and WWE.

Despite the initial announcement, news regarding the agreement has been relatively quiet in recent weeks. Nonetheless, its impact on WWE programming is becoming evident.

In a recent article for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer highlighted the plans for main roster stars to continue making appearances on NXT. Additionally, he reiterated the intentions shared by Nick Khan, emphasizing the goal of establishing NXT as a standalone third brand. The discussions also involve the possibility of taping television shows outside of Orlando and organizing house shows in smaller venues beyond Florida, similar to NXT’s pre-pandemic touring practices.

Notably, Meltzer also drew attention to the fact that the pending merger between WWE and UFC is currently impeding “major changes” within WWE, including potential modifications to Monday Night RAW.
