NGW: Tennessee Champion Tyler Breeze is excited to be back in the ring after a two-year hiatus which he never planned on happening.
Breeze, best known for his time in WWE, returned to action for NGW earlier this month in his first match since his WWE release in 2021.
On a recent edition of the “Lazy Booking” podcast, Breeze admitted that he never planned on being out of the ring for so long. He said,
“It’s pretty cool man [being back.] I never really planned on taking two years off, but after doing this for 15 years and being in WWE for 11 years, to where I really didn’t take any time off … When I finally got that call, I was like, ‘Alright, well, I’m just gonna chill for a little bit.’ And then, I really liked it.”
Breeze added that while he enjoyed his time off, his connection with the fans made him realize a return to wrestling had to happen. He said,
“I think it’s the reason why we do this or why people have a hard time stepping away, is the crowd. It’s just so fun.”
Breeze will team up with his WWE tag-team partner Dirty Dango at NGW: Nightmare in The Old City on October 8.
