During a recent conversation with TV Insider, WWE Hall of Fame legend Trish Stratus gave an insight into her current status in wrestling, implying that she is not entirely finished with her wrestling career.

She also expressed her thoughts on the 20th anniversary of her main event face-off with fellow wrestler Lita during WWE’s Monday Night RAW event.

Find below some key points from the interview:

Regarding finding out she and Lita would be the main event on RAW: “An interesting thing happened. Nobody spoke to us initially. We saw the event card when we walked into the building. Seeing our names listed as the main event, we couldn’t believe it, and thought maybe the boys were pulling our leg. Gradually, it dawned on us that it was real and a huge opportunity. Especially when people started congratulating us. Speaking to Vince [McMahon] about it, we realized it was even bigger than we’d thought. We understood we had to seize this moment and prove that we, and women in general, could match up with the men and close the show with style. I believe we accomplished that.”

Reflecting on what happened post-match: “Receiving a standing ovation from Vince and the rest of the crew backstage was an unforgettable moment for us. The fact that we had pulled it off was significant, not just for us, but for all the women who saw this as a stepping stone. Women like Charlotte, who watched us that night and thought, “If they can do this, so can I.” Nattie mentioned to me how being in the business and witnessing what we accomplished inspired her. It showcased the potential and opportunities that were out there for women.”

Discussing who she is captivated by in today’s wrestling: “I am really delighted that Nia Jax is back in the game. Her presence is powerful. I find watching her very entertaining. I kind of feel that I won’t be able to fully retire until I have been thrown around the ring by her. Is that strange? Then, I think I would be ready to retire [laughs].”
