During a recent chat with Inside the Ropes, WWE Hall of Fame member Trish Stratus gave some insights into her table spot with Bubba Ray Dudley at the WWE Backlash pay-per-view event in 2000. She recalled saying,
“He would shield them a bit, but I told him I don’t need protection. I want it to be as real as it would be with a guy. I wanted to make it look impressive, and I think that had a significant impact on him. Not only for him, but also for our fans and co-workers to see my willingness to risk my own health. I believe that had a substantial impact. That felt like a defining moment where I could assert my desire to stick around.”
In a related update, WWE Tag Team Champion Tommaso Ciampa failed yet again to land an RKO on Randy Orton unexpectedly.
In a recent wrestling event in Worcester, Massachusetts, Ciampa’s RKO attempt on Randy Orton backfired after using Orton’s daughter Willow as a distraction by seeking his autograph. Johnny Gargano shared the video of this event on social media, with the caption,
“We went all out this week in Worcester, MA. Overflowing with #DunKing spirit and our secret weapon… all in our quest to finally RKO the Viper. #OuttaNowhere #DIYRKO @CiampaWWE @RandyOrton”
