Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Principal Creative Officer, was part of a significant presentation at Netflix’s primary hub on Tuesday, December 3. He was accompanied by WWE President, Nick Khan, Netflix’s Principal Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, and Brandon Riegg, Vice President of Documentary and Unscripted Series.
The event, moderated by WWE broadcaster Michael Cole, underscored the cruciality of WWE’s emerging partnership with Netflix, which Triple H considers to be game-changing. Cole recalled his journey since stepping into WWE during the famous Attitude Era, dubbing it as the “most vital and prolific era” in WWE history. In response, Triple H, who was also part of the Attitude Era, confirmed that the current WWE era surpasses even that golden period.
In further discussions, the WWE veteran outlined the impact of the Netflix and WWE collaboration on global fans. Importantly, he noted that the partnership will enable most regions outside the US to avail the entirety of WWE content.
According to Triple H, “It’s staggering, the instance of WWE debuting on Netflix. The global consequence of this powerhouse combo, particularly beyond the US borders, is incomprehensibly massive for the WWE fandom, who have always been puzzling over how and where to catch WWE programs. With Netflix roping in WWE, the fans world-over can avail everything in a one-stop-shop, at any time. It’s a game-changer.”
Throughout the conversation, Triple H consistently emphasized the paramount importance of this era, even over the Attitude Era. The vivid memory of Michael Cole referring to present-day WWE as the “Triple H Era” surfaced in the conversation.
He asserted, “You stated earlier today that the Attitude Era was the paramount, feature-filled period of WWE. I’d say that’s no longer the case. Present times usurp that.”
He continued, “The trajectory we’re on now, having experienced the zenith of the Attitude Era, I see the current times through a magnified lens. It’s a radically different, superior era. While you allude to it as the Triple H Epoch, I’d rather think of it as the Netflix Era – it’s the game-changer.”
Cole promptly retorted, “I’ll stick with the Triple H Era.”
Setting another milestone, WWE is slated for its grand launch on Netflix with Monday Night RAW on January 6, 2025, at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Adding another feather to its cap, from January 2025, Netflix will play host to WWE outside of the United States, featuring shows such as SmackDown, NXT, and pay-per-view events.
