Sonya Deville, a former WWE Superstar, recently revealed some aspects of her career during her appearance on “The Ariel Helwani Show”. She discussed about the time she sustained a torn ACL injury in 2023 and the impact it had on her.

Deville took advantage of her injury time-off to propose her return as a co-GM on the main roster. However, this was negated by Triple H who preferred to keep the role for non-active wrestlers. Highlights from this podcast can be viewed below:

She talked about proposing her return to the GM role whilst being injured: “I did make that suggestion, but it was negated. Triple H made it clear that the GM role is better suited for those who are not actively wrestling. I had hoped to return to this role.”

She also conveyed why the GM role is attractive: “With the GM role comes power. Even if you’re a wrestler, this role gives you control to orchestrate the roster. It was a role I relished and hoped to return to. I believe it was successful during my tenure and I hoped to replicate that success.”

During another interview with the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Deville discussed her WWE faction, the Pure Fusion Collective. Here are some interesting takeaways from this interview:

Discussing Pure Fusion Collective: “Before the formation of PFC, I didn’t have a close relationship with the other members. However, during our time together, our bond strengthened immensely and our dynamic turned out to be remarkable.”

Sharing about the uniqueness of the group: “Shayna always remained cool and composed due to her extensive experience in MMA and WWE. Zoey, on the other hand, presented as ambitious and impatient, always wanting to get things done immediately. I, however, played the mediator, bridging the gap between the two. We worked together frequently and that is something I miss. I believe both of them have a lot of potential and they will thrive.”
