In a recent episode of the “Under the Ring” podcast, WWE’s Johnny Gargano opened up about his professional and personal relationship with WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and his experience working under him in NXT.

While discussing his time working under Triple H in NXT, Johnny Gargano mentioned, “Triple H was my constant companion throughout my entire NXT journey. His leadership and human approach was a critical factor for my return to WWE – a place where not only talent is appreciated, but the human behind the talent is equally treasured.”
Speaking about how Triple H nudged him even when he was contract-free, he shared, “During the birth of our son Quill, even though I wasn’t yet tied up with WWE, Hunter took the time to send his good wishes. Similarly, when news about my father’s restaurant broke, he was amongst the first to offer assistance. The fact that we are now working together on Smackdown, reminiscent of our NXT days, is like a dream come true and adds joy to my work routine.”
Finally, Gargano spoke about the impact of DIY’s determined work mantra in NXT, noting, “Our strong work ethic and in-ring performance caught many people’s attention in WWE. It made Hunter acknowledge our determination. We received immense appreciation for our tirelessness and tenacity. As time progressed, the bond became stronger. I am often left in awe of the genius that him and Shawn [Michaels] bring to the wrestling industry and count my blessings to be able to learn from such seasoned professionals.”
