Triple H says Roman Reigns is on his own level right now and he thinks momentum will play in his favor at SummerSlam this weekend.

Triple H joined The Volume’s Colin Cowherd for a live broadcast in Las Vegas to discuss SummerSlam weekend, and he was asked for his thoughts on the Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and John Cena. Triple H said that Cena makes his own argument for being an all-time great but when it comes to right now, there’s no one else on Reigns’ level.

“You’ve got two total pros in the ring. Cena, you could make the argument that in the generation, the best. Some people would even say the greatest of all time, maybe. You could make a lot of arguments for that,” Triple H said. “To me, Roman is on a different level from anyone. Anyone.

“In an era where there weren’t people there, he was on a different level from anyone. He has taken it now to another level beyond that. He’s one of those guys that I feel like is changing the business a little bit as he’s moving forward,” he explained, “to where he is pulling people back into a different realm of character work and what that means, and I love it. Maybe I’m biased because it’s more in my wheelhouse of performance, but I do think he’s on a completely different level.”

As far as who walks away with the title on Saturday night, Triple H said that it’s ‘a hard hill to climb’ when you leave for an extended time, and he knows that from experience himself. That said, he believes Roman is in a zone and there’s something to be said about the momentum he has now.

“I think he goes through this. I think from a performance standpoint and when the day is done,” he noted, “eyes are on Roman Reigns as what this business is about today, and not John Cena. That’s my prediction.”
