The man known for the character Triple H in WWE recently revealed that Dave Bautista faced serious financial struggles prior to his breakout role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Bautista made his first appearance as Drax the Destroyer in the 2014 film, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, a character which he reprised on several occasions before concluding last year.

During an episode of the “Roommates” podcast, Triple H shed light on Dave Bautista’s financial situation before his film career kickstarted. He said,

“He was living off the money he made wrestling, but he’d made a lot of bad investments. At some point, he went completely broke. He was living on someone’s couch, just trying to get his foot in the door.”

He also added, “When Guardians hit, everything changed. He started getting other roles, and it just took off from there. He went the difficult route of doing it, not just relying on being the action guy.”

Subsequent to ‘Guardians’, Bautista has been part of various high-profile films, like ‘Blade Runner’ and the James Bond movie ‘Spectre’.

Dave Bautista’s last match as a part of WWE was at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, where he faced a defeat at the hands of Triple H.
