Meltzer wrote, “Regarding the Hall of Fame, this year will fall under Levesque for the first time instead of McMahon. It’s likely still the same basic rules regarding women, minorities and characters that the audience would know and those who make sense politically for a variety of reasons. I think Levesque may be a little more open to certain types since he was a fan of more than just WWE but once WWE owned the tape libraries a lot of that stigma was gone. I was told that, for example, if there is a political reason to put someone in that Nick Khan would want, that would be a factor but the Hall of Fame is under creative and that’s Levesque’s department and he’d in theory sign off on everyone.”

WWE WrestleMania 40 is set to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on April 6 and 7, with the Hall of Fame ceremony scheduled for April 5. In an interesting development, it has been reported that Triple H will be fully in charge of the selection process for the Hall of Fame next year.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this will be the first time that Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, will oversee the Hall of Fame instead of Vince McMahon. While the basic rules regarding the inclusion of women, minorities, and recognizable characters will likely remain the same, there may be some changes under Triple H’s leadership.

Meltzer suggests that Triple H may be more open to including certain types of individuals since he was a fan of wrestling beyond just WWE. Previously, there may have been a stigma attached to wrestlers from other promotions or territories, but since WWE acquired tape libraries from various companies, that stigma has diminished. However, it is important to note that if there is a political reason to induct someone that Nick Khan, WWE’s President and Chief Revenue Officer, supports, it could be a factor in the decision-making process.

Ultimately, the Hall of Fame falls under the creative department, which is headed by Triple H. He will have the final say on who gets inducted into the prestigious institution. This responsibility signifies Triple H’s growing influence within WWE and showcases his ability to shape the company’s future.

For fans of professional wrestling, this news adds an intriguing element to the upcoming Hall of Fame inductions. It will be interesting to see how Triple H’s personal preferences and vision for the industry influence the selection process and the individuals chosen for induction.
