Anticipation is building up for the WWE NXT title where Trick Williams is projected to face off against Ethan Page. The match is set to be the showstopper at the Battleground 2024 pay-per-view event planned to take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ethan Page recently marked his presence on the NXT stage in a memorable way, launching an attack on Williams. Commenting on this surprise attack on him during The Masked Man Show, Page had this to say:
“It’s a mix of feelings, frankly. We’ve put in so much sweat and effort to elevate NXT to its present status. The results are apparent as we have contenders from all directions, eager to leap to the top and claim the title. But, I must add that reaching this point wasn’t easy for me. It took time, perseverance and a lot of hard work. It’s a bit unsettling to see these contestants rushing to the front of the line.
Let me be clear on one thing – it’s not usual to just demand a title shot these days. With the frequent ambushes on me, rest assured, I’m not backing down from any challenge. All one needs to do is state, ‘I wish to compete for the title’. And there you have it, it’s a deal. Why resort to attacking everyone every week?
Every opponent I’ve ever faced, I ensured to watch and study their moves. Whether it was Ilja Dragunov, Carmelo Hayes, or Bron Breakker, I observed each one thoroughly. Now, those names are of the past, and it reminds me of the last episode of Fresh Prince (of Bel-Air). Ethan Page is a new challenge, and I know his competence in the ring. Yet, it requires me returning to the drawing board, studying and preparing. Yet, I view it as a thrilling prospect, an opportunity to show the crowd my capabilities, especially with a fresh competitor like Ethan Page. I hope he’s prepared for what he wished for, because I’m not holding back.”
