Bianca Belair opened up on the advice she received from John Cena while appearing on Out Of Character with Ryan Satin.
Belair lost the SmackDown Women’s Title to a returning Becky Lynch at SummerSlam in 2021. It was a big surprise return for Lynch, who had been away for over a year. The match lasted just 26 seconds.
Cena gave Belair advice following the match about how to handle it.
“Sometimes when you think it can be the worst thing that’s happening, and then it flourishes into this beautiful year long storyline, and it all comes full circle, and that’s what it did for me.
“But in the moment, it can be tough. That 26 second moment was tough for me. I remember going to my husband. We always allow each other to vent.
“Then we’re like,’ Okay, I’m validating your feelings, but how do we get out of this? Like, we can’t stay here in this mindset. Let’s look at the bigger picture.’
“Then John Cena was there. He pulled me aside and he talked to me. He really helped me with my perspective of that, and it’s going to carry with me for the rest of my career.”
