In the recent airing of his “What Happened When” podcast, Tony Schiavone, the voice of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), shared his thoughts on multiple subjects, including Lex Luger’s 2025 WWE Hall of Fame induction and the notion of Jim Cornette’s deserving the same honor. The podcast also covered a range of other talking points.
For those who didn’t manage to catch the podcast, we have noted down a couple of highlights:
Discussing Lex Luger’s entry into the WWE Hall Of Fame, Schiavone said, “Good on Lex. Viewing the WWE Hall of Fame, it’s sort of like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, where numerous deserving individuals seem to get their due recognition rather late. This could be said for some of my all-time favorite bands such as Kiss. They waited an enduringly long time to get in, as did The Cars and even Chicago. The same could be said for Lex. Lex’s recognition probably should have come much earlier. However, that’s just the nature of these Halls of Fame, isn’t it? Everyone always comments, ‘They should have been in earlier.’ Nevertheless, I’m delighted that he’s now been inducted.”
On the topic of why Jim Cornette has yet to be included in the WWE Hall of Fame, Schiavone argued, “Why isn’t he already in there? I find that to be preposterous. He definitely deserves a spot.”
