In a recent episode of his podcast “What Happened When”, Tony Schiavone, a renowned broadcaster for AEW, responded to the contentious comments made by Jim Cornette about Adam Copeland.
Cornette had earlier stated his belief that Copeland had damaged his reputation by associating with AEW.
Below are some highlighted points from the podcast episode:
When it came to discussing Jim Cornette’s critique of Adam Copeland, citing that he had tarnished his legacy by moving to AEW, Schiavone broached the topic by saying, “If we are talking about legacy, we can safely say — his stint in the WWE is indestructible. Let’s not forget, Edge and Christian [are] one stunning tag team duo. Regardless of his actions now, that fact remains. Plus, he’s making a comfortable living now, even in his 50s.”
In another segment, Schiavone reminisced about his early days in the wrestling arena, during his stint with Jim Crockett Promotions, he said, “The territorial system was still in effect, more or less, when I joined. I’m not just glad, but proud to have experienced that phase. It’s an era that’s now in the past and not many from today’s generation who are into the business have a recollection of it.”
The podcast also included a part dedicated to “Territory Madness.”
