Tony Schiavone would be an asset to WWE thanks to his decades of experience in the wrestling industry, but he has no interest in signing with the promotion.

Schiavone, best known for his tenure in WCW, has been with AEW since 2019 where he works as an interviewer and commentator.

During his “What Happened When” podcast, Schiavone’s co-host Conrad Thompson joked that Tony has a lifetime deal with AEW, something Schiavone quickly refuted. He said,

“That’s a f***ing lie unless my life ends by April next year. There is no guarantee that they’re going to re-sign me. That’s how I approach life: no guarantees. Klondike Bill told me one time, ‘The job is a day-to-day thing, Tony.’ That’s how I approach my life.”

When Schiavone was asked if he would ever consider joining WWE, he said that it will never happen if he wants to remain a married man. He said,

“No, it’s well-established here at the Schiavone household that, Lois Schiavone has said if I even think about going to the WWE, she’ll divorce me!”

Schiavone already provides commentary for Dynamite and Rampage and could soon be part of AEW Collision when the show launches next month.
