In a recent episode of his podcast “What Happened When”, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone shares his admiration for the WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett’s recent bout with Bryan Danielson in AEW. Schiavone honored Jarrett for his enduring presence in the wrestling industry.

Earlier this month, Danielson triumphed over Jarrett in an Anything Goes Match during AEW Dynamite. The key highlights from the podcast can be reviewed below:

Discussing the contest between Bryan Danielson and Jeff Jarrett, Schiavone said, “Double J really went all out. It’s no surprise Bryan always does. I chatted with Double J after the event and noticed he was bleeding, and I said, ‘I want to appreciate you for risking your health to offer us an exciting show.’ He gave me a small smile. I said, ‘No, I’m genuinely speaking,’ and shook his hand, a ritual I always do. He just stepped it up, which is not a surprise to anyone familiar with Jeff Jarrett.”

About Jarrett’s longevity in the field, Schiavone expressed, “Jeff Jarrett’s enduring career in wrestling is due to his outstanding performance over the years. Naturally, his family was involved in wrestling, so he was introduced to the business at birth and managed TNA at one point. But when he returned to AEW, I believe he delivered commendably. I’ve admired everything Jeff Jarrett has contributed since he got here. It’s not your first impression of Jeff Jarrett, but knowing him, you recognize what a professional he genuinely is. I’m thrilled that he continues to perform at a high level and am delighted to have gotten to know Jeff, Karen, Cody, and the entire team. Kudos to Jeff Jarrett for this lead up to the Wembley match.”

Reflecting on the audience singing his name at AEW All In 2024, Schiavone reminisced, “Think back and you’ll see me in the ring beginning to speak. Suddenly, the fans begin chanting my name. I told my sister, Lois, this. I confessed, ‘I’ve never experienced this sensation in my entire career,’ to the point I turned and told her, ‘You’ve never chanted my name.’”
