Tony Schiavone, a commentator for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has expressed his belief that the wrestling promotion, led by Tony Khan, has been particularly successful in cultivating its own roster of stars. He argues that this is a vital part of establishing a prosperous wrestling organization.
In his own words, Schiavone shared, “A wrestling promotion must make its own stars, and I believe AEW is doing precisely that. For instance, whether you like him or dislike him, we have MJF, the Young Bucks, and Hangman Adam Page, who, in my opinion, is on the path to becoming an impressive heel. Let’s not forget Will Ospreay, who notably rose to stardom with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Swerve Strickland is another name that comes to mind. These are all stars that have been developed within AEW, and I believe that’s the hallmark of a successful company.”
Schiavone further added, “Yes, it’s true that Bryan Danielson enjoys widespread popularity, and rightfully so. Claudio [Castagnoli] and Jon Moxley are other examples—they were stars who had their start in WWE. But today, they’re here in AEW, and in my view, that’s a remarkable mix.”
