In a recent conversation with Uproxx’s Raj Prashad, Tony Khan – the President and CEO of AEW, shared his insights on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite and the comeback of MJF. Furthermore, Khan, often called “TK”, provided updates on Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.

Here are some key takeaways from the interview:

Concerning MJF’s comeback to AEW, Khan stated, “Celebrate with us as we mark AEW’s five-year anniversary. Five years since MJF’s arrival, he makes his return, in perfect health and better shape than ever, at our Double or Nothing pay-per-view event. We are enthusiastic about his return to AEW. This is the opportune time for MJF’s comeback as AEW is set to have an impressive summer. This Wednesday night on TBS, MJF will appear on AEW television for the first time this year.”

While discussing Will Ospreay’s challenge to Swerve Strickland for the world title, Khan commented, “Ospreay possesses an impressive understanding of the wrestling industry. His phenomenal ideas are often reflected in his matches and captivating promos. The unfathomable level at which Ospreay is wrestling makes him an ideal challenger to the world title in AEW.”

Commenting on Mercedes Mone’s ascend to TBS Championship, Khan expressed, “Mercedes being the face of TBS and its champion is a significant achievement for her. TBS has more than 50 years of pro wrestling tradition, and now Mercedes has become an indispensable part of it. It’s evident to our fans that Mercedes is one of the world-class wrestlers and this standard will be maintained going forward as the TBS champion here at AEW.”

Revealing the status of Dr. Britt Baker, Khan informed, “Our original star, Dr. Britt Baker has been sidelined due to injury. We’re keenly looking forward to welcoming her back to AEW soon.”

While addressing the prospects of Jamie Hayter’s return, Khan shared, “Jamie Hayter has unfortunately been away due to injury as well. The timeline for her return is still uncertain. We would be thrilled to have her back in AEW as soon as she is fit and ready. She would be a great asset to us.”
