AEW Collision will premiere this Saturday on TNT, and that time slot was never going to be reserved for ROH programming.

In the 15 months since Tony Khan’s purchase of ROH was announced, the promotion has hosted a handful of pay-per-views and hosts weekly ROH programming online.

In an interview with POST Wrestling, Khan was asked about ROH possibly filling the Saturday shot and the ROH owner said it was never a consideration. He added,

“I think the idea of two more hours of AEW was very appealing. What it meant was ‘AEW Dark’ and ‘AEW Dark: Elevation’ would be coming to an end, at least for now and they were great shows and they’ve been huge for the development of AEW.”

While ROH won’t be airing on Saturday nights, Khan remained positive about the future of the brand. He said,

“I think in the future Ring of Honor is going to be very important for the development of AEW.”

AEW Collision will launch this Saturday and will feature the return of former AEW World Champion and ROH Hall of Famer CM Punk.
