Tony Khan, President of AEW, recently took to Twitter to appreciate the AEW team for their adaptability in dealing with last-minute changes. This came after the sudden removal of Britt Baker from the recent AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday episode due to illness, causing a reshuffle in the women’s title eliminator match.
On Twitter, Khan said, “Thank you all who watched Tuesday Night #AEWDynamite tonight! I’m proud of Team AEW pulling together despite numerous challenges and changes out of our control! We appreciate you all who watched tonight.”
In a conversation with “Talk is Jericho,” wrestler Nigel McGuiness divulged that he was prepared to fight Bryan Danielson at AEW All IN 2023, before Danielson suffered an injury. McGuiness took a hiatus from wrestling but returned a year later at All In 2024, taking part in the Casino Gauntlet match.
Asked about his return to the ring, McGuiness said, “No, not in this life. I don’t think he [Tony Khan] was either, because as much of a wrestling fan as he is, you have to be an obsessed Nigel McGuinness fan to know my backstory and to understand why I wasn’t wrestling. I think Tony probably believed what a lot of other people believed, that it was perhaps a hepatitis issue or perhaps it was an injury that stopped me…”
McGuiness was eventually defeated by Danielson on the September 25th edition of AEW Dynamite.
