In a recent interview with POST Wrestling, AEW CEO, President, etc. Tony Khan confirmed that the soon-to-premiere AEW Collision won’t hinder AEW’s quarterly specials ‘Battle of the Belts’, although the specifics regarding the next episode’s airing day on TNT are still being discussed. Khan expressed appreciation for the question and assured that a definitive answer will be provided soon.
“Yeah, Battle of the Belts will continue, which is great. As for where the next Battle of the Belts episode will run on TNT, whether it will be a Friday or a Saturday, it’s a great question, and still talking about that. We’ll have a good answer for you on that soon.”
When discussing AEW Collision, Tony Khan shared his vision of incorporating successful elements from AEW’s established working formula while also creating a distinct identity for the show. He acknowledged the interviewer’s observation, emphasizing his intention to develop Collision as a separate and unique wrestling experience. He said,
“I think you hit the nail on the head there great. I want to take some of the great things we’ve developed that are part of the working formula, but I also want to create a distinct show with a distinct identity, and I really believe we can do that with Collision and present a great wrestling show every Saturday night, starting this week.”
