Tony Khan On Adam Cole: This Guy Scared The Sh-t Out Of Me Every Wednesday, There’s No One I’d Rather Have Here
Tony Khan has high praise for a former ratings ‘adversary’ and one of his latest signees in Adam Cole.
Tony Khan and Adam Cole took part in a media scrum after AEW All Out, the event that saw Cole make his debut in the promotion. Cole fielded questions from the media about what brought him to All Elite Wrestling and his plans in the company, then Khan offered an endorsement of Cole and said AEW was successful in handily beating NXT in the ratings, but Cole’s the one guy that made him think otherwise each week.
“As he exits, I would just like to say a statement, which is that the ‘Wednesday Night War’ is over. We went, in the demo, I believe out of 75 episodes, we went 74-1. He [points to Cole] is the ‘1’ in 74-1. When there was a ‘Wednesday Night War,’ this is the man that used to strike fear into my heart every Wednesday. I used to be scared,” Tony Khan said. “This guy scared the sh-t out of me every Wednesday. There’s nobody I’d rather have here and it means the world that you came. Thank you.”
Cole also talked about why joining AEW was a “fairly easy” decision, how his expiring WWE contract came as a surprise and much more; you can read his comments about his road to AEW at this link and watch the full interview at the top of this post.
